NBN23 REPRESENTS EUROPE FOR RIO OLYMPIC GAMES

University of Trento hosted the European edition of the Global Sports Innovation Competition, where 123 companies competed for the opportunity of representing Europe in the world final of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Where the seven selected companies chosen to represent each continent, will present their ideas to a jury composed of high-level professionals from top sport corporations that include Nike, Adidas, Golden State Warriors, BBC TV Sports and the Committee Organizer of Rio 2016. This panel will decide one winner for the competition on August 2nd and who will receive the 100,000-euro funding for their innovation.

NBN23 (NothingButNet23) participated in the contest and was represented by NBN23 CEO Javier Bosch, who presented the technology to modernize basketball. Proposing AI technology that collects data in order to improve decision making and performance of athletes, while providing a data system that digitalize Competitions, Federations and Leagues of all levels.

These innovative ideas were selected by the Trento jury to represent Europe during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Bosch commented on the accomplishment after receiving the award stating, “We (NBN23) are extremely proud to represent Europe in Rio de Janeiro, it is a great opportunity for our project to participate in one of the largest innovation competitions in the world. We will continue to provide our best on technology and data, in order to help make smarter decisions in sport.”

NBN23 has shown a lot of growth after only one year of existence and this latest award shows the potential the Spanish corporation has with its technology. This confirmation from the competition shows that this innovation could alter the sport world and improve the game of basketball.
